1、英語中形容詞和副詞有三個比較等級,即原級,比較級和最高級。
2、兩者進行比較時,用比較級,“…比…更…”。
3、三者或三者以上進行比較時,用最高級“…最…”。
4、形容詞或副詞的比較級與最高級的變化規則。
5、單音節詞尾加er或est,變成比較級或最高級。new-newer-newest hard-harder-hardest great-greater-greatest.
6、單音節詞以e結尾的,只加r或st。large-larger-largest nice-nicer-nicest。brave-braver-bravest late-later-latest.
7、以重讀閉音節結尾,且詞尾只有一個輔音字母的詞,應雙寫這個輔音字母,再加er或est。fat-fatter-fattest big-bigger-biggest。hot-hotter-hottest thin-thinner-thinnest.
8、少數以“er”,“ow”等結尾的雙音節詞,末尾加er或est。clever-cleverer- cleverest。 narrow-narrower-narrowest.
9、以輔音字母+y結尾的單詞,先把y去掉,再加ier和iest。easy-easier-easiest happy-happier-happiest。heavy-heavier-heaviest.
10、其他雙音節詞和多音節詞,在前面加more,most來構成比較級和最高級。easily—more easily—most easily。difficult-more difficult-most difficult。
11、不規則變化。good-better-best bad/ill-worse-worst。many/much-more-most little-less-least。far-farther-farthest.
12、用法。比較級只用於兩者之間,常用於“比較級+than”結構中。 is fatter than I。She did it more carefully than he.
13、最高級常用於“the +最高級+比較範圍”。 is the best student in the class.她是這個班裏最好的學生。She sings (the) best in the class.她在這個班唱得最好
14、形容詞最高級前必須加the,副詞最高級常可省略the.
